Lift for Life Gym
More Than a Workout
Lift For Life Gym is about more than fitness. It gives St. Louis youth a place to build confidence, develop healthy habits and gain the skills and support they need to thrive.
This summer, VP Community Impact Foundation members got to put that mission into action, joining Lift For Life families to launch a new Urban Farming program.
Together, VP members and families built four raised garden beds and filled them with soil, creating a space where kids can get their hands dirty while learning the value of patience, hard work and growth.
Now, those beds are producing tomatoes, okra, sweet potatoes, sage and peppers. But the real growth is happening with the kids.
For VP, this is community impact in action: showing up, working alongside others and creating experiences that leave a lasting impression.
"On a rainy Saturday June 13th of this year, the V.P. Community Impact Foundation made a difference in the lives of our kids at Lift For Lift Gym. Families came together to help launch our Urban Farming program. They built four farming beds and then put in some sweat equity to fill them with soil. Now our kids are working with their hands in the dirt and realizing how nourishing seeds can produce tomatoes, okra, sweet potatoes, sage, and peppers. I believe what the V.P. Community Impact Foundation has given them a life lesson that they can apply to themselves, knowing that if they work hard they'll reap the fruits of their labor."
