At VP Saint Louis, we believe in the transformative power of community service. That's why we were thrilled to partner with the Royal Vagabonds in a remarkable initiative that has brought joy, laughter, and endless opportunities for play to the Zion Early Child Development Center in Ferguson, Missouri. Together, we designed, purchased, and installed a vibrant playground on its grounds, and on October 29, 2016, we witnessed the magic unfold as almost 100 dedicated volunteers from both organizations, as well as the local neighborhood, came together to build the entire playground in a single day.

Our collective vision was to create a space where children could unleash their imaginations, explore their physical abilities, and foster social connections. With careful planning and a deep understanding of children's needs, we carefully crafted a playground that combines safety, fun, and learning.

The playground stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and unity within our community. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds and walks of life worked side by side, driven by a shared goal of making a lasting impact on the lives of young children. Together, we dug trenches, assembled swings, climbed ladders, and secured slides, all with the intention of providing a haven of joy for the children at Zion Early Child Development Center.

The significance of this project extends beyond the playground itself. It represents a symbol of hope and resilience, demonstrating that when we come together with a common purpose, we can create something truly extraordinary. The playground serves as a reminder of the strength and resilience within our community, and the belief that every child deserves a safe and stimulating environment to grow and thrive.

Since that memorable day in October 2016, the playground at Zion Early Child Development Center has become a hub of laughter, discovery, and friendships. Children gather here to explore, engage in imaginative play, and develop their physical abilities. It has become a place where memories are made, where dreams take flight, and where the joys of childhood are celebrated.

But our work doesn't stop here. We are committed to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the playground, ensuring that it continues to be a vibrant and safe space for years to come. We organize regular community events, such as clean-up days to ensure that the playground remains a cherished destination for all.
